Halal, kosher, vegan and gluten-free food
Highstreett has 4 guides for what you eat, covering 2 of the 5 diets below. A place only gets a label when a certifier, its menu or the place itself says so.

Halal
A halal certifier such as HMC lists the place, or the place says its food is halal.
Save it as: Religious requirements → Halal. A hard filter.

- LincolnHalal restaurants in Lincoln
- LincolnHalal butchers and grocers in Lincoln
Kosher
A supervising body such as the KLBD, the Manchester Beth Din or Kedassia licenses the place. Kosher-style isn't kosher.
Save it as: Religious requirements → Kosher. A hard filter.
No guide yet. You can still save it and search for it.
Vegetarian and vegan
The place's own menu marks dishes vegetarian or vegan, or the whole place is.
Save it as: Dietary → Vegetarian or Vegan. A preference.
Gluten-free
The place's own menu marks dishes gluten-free. For coeliacs, ask how they stop cross-contamination.
Save it as: Dietary → Gluten-free, which filters to places that say so. Allergies → Gluten is flagged, not filtered.
No guide yet. You can still save it and search for it.
No beef or no pork
The place's own menu has no beef or no pork. We use those words, not a faith label.
Save it as: Religious requirements → No beef or No pork. A hard filter.
No guide yet. You can still save it and search for it.
How it works
How to use Highstreett for any dietary need
- Step 1
Save it once
Sign in and open your preferences. Dietary and religious requirements (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal, kosher, no pork, no beef, no alcohol, Jain and the rest) filter results to places that say they meet them. Allergies are flagged, not filtered: we can't check ingredients, so we remind you to ask the place.
- Step 2
Ask in plain words
Type it the way you'd say it: “vegan brunch near the station” or “halal food open late”. The search only says a place suits a diet when that place's own listing says so. If it can't confirm it, it tells you.
- Step 3
Read the label
We never decide what a place serves from its cuisine, its name or who owns it. A label says what the place or a certifier told us, and when we checked.
- Step 4
Check on the day
Menus change. For allergies, coeliac disease or a strict standard, ask the place before you order.
