Record search

Find something good to listen to.

Albums, checked against a real catalogue before we name them.

We recommend albums rather than particular pressings, and we won’t name a record we couldn’t find in the catalogue. Looking for a shop to browse instead? Ask for one, because that works here too.

Ask for a record, or for a song and we’ll find the album it’s on.

Questions

What this page does

What can I search for on this page?
Albums, by artist, genre, era, or a song when you can name the artist who recorded it. We recommend albums rather than particular pressings, so what you get is the record itself and a link to the copies for sale. If you want a shop to browse instead, ask for one: a record shop is a place, and that works here too.
How do you know the albums are real?
Every album is resolved against the Discogs catalogue before it is named, and one we cannot resolve is declined rather than guessed at. The catalogue is full of near misses, tribute records, covers albums and singles sharing a title with the album you asked for, so a recommendation has to clear a match check against what you actually asked for before it is shown.
What do the prices mean?
The price on a card is the lowest current asking price on the Discogs marketplace for the album's main pressing, in pounds. It is not what every copy costs, and other pressings may be cheaper or dearer. Where we cannot confirm which currency a figure is in, we show how many copies are for sale and no price at all, because a price in the wrong currency is worse than none.
