A restaurant, deli or bakery is kosher when a supervising body licenses it. Highstreett doesn't list any kosher places yet, and when it does, it will only call a place kosher on that licence.

How to check a place yourself
Look for the licence
A kosher place displays a licence from the body that supervises it. In the UK these include the London Beth Din's KLBD, the Manchester Beth Din and Kedassia. If you're unsure, contact the body named on the licence.
Kosher-style isn't kosher
A deli serving salt beef and bagels, or a menu with no pork, can be kosher-style without being supervised. Only the licence makes it kosher.
Check the standard you keep
Supervising bodies set different standards, for example on milk and meat. If yours is stricter, ask which body supervises the place.
What our labels mean
No place carries these labels yet. When we add kosher places, these are the only two words we'll use, and we'll never decide a place is kosher from its food, its name or who owns it.

Does Highstreett list kosher restaurants?
Not yet. We have no kosher guides, and no place on Highstreett is labelled kosher. Each city guide will be listed here when it's live.
Does Highstreett certify places as kosher?
No. Only a supervising body such as the KLBD, the Manchester Beth Din or Kedassia can. We'll record which body licenses a place and when we checked.
Can I save kosher as a requirement?
Yes. Sign in, open your preferences and pick Kosher under religious requirements. It's treated as a hard filter, and a place is only called kosher when its own listing says so.
