Prayer and quiet rooms at the University of Lincoln, and what the city does not have
The university’s prayer and quiet rooms are in Witham House (building 10) on the Brayford campus, run by the Multi-Faith Chaplaincy for students and staff of any faith or none. Friday Jummah is in the Minerva Building in term time. We could not find a gurdwara or a Hindu temple in Lincoln, so the closest we did find are below. Checked 10 September 2026.
Witham House, building 10
- Muslim prayer rooms: WH0003 for brothers and WH0004 for sisters. Other faith groups can use them with notice.
- Wudu: separate male and female ablution facilities in the building.
- Quiet and meditation rooms: WH0005 and WH0006, for anyone who wants somewhere to pray, meditate or just sit quietly.
- Interfaith library: WH0017.
Students’ Union faith societies can also book space there for meetings through the chaplaincy.

Friday Jummah on campus
Every Friday in term time at 1pm, in the Minerva Building (building 1), room MB3401. Brothers use the door opposite the male toilets; sisters follow the corridor to the left of them. Outside term time, and for personal prayer during the week, use the Witham House rooms above.

No gurdwara or Hindu temple in Lincoln that we could find
Sikh students: the closest gurdwara we found is the Guru Nanak Sikh Temple, 207 Frodingham Road, Scunthorpe DN15 7NS, a registered charity (1155573). World Gurudwaras, a directory of gurdwaras, lists none in Lincolnshire.
Hindu students: the closest temple we found is the Hindu Temple Cultural and Community Centre, 215 Carlton Road, Nottingham NG3 2FX. Its programme of pujas and festivals is on its own site.
The Multi-Faith Chaplaincy is there for students of all faiths or none, and is the first place to ask.
What this page does not do
