Indian restaurants in Lincoln

Last updated: 12 October 2026

Highstreett uses AI tools in its editorial workflow. Editorial contact: Alex. Editorial standards.

Highstreett lists 12 Indian restaurants in Lincoln, 6 of them verified independent. These are the 8 its search ranks highest, starting with Chilli Spice.

Lincoln has plenty of Indian menus, and the cards below are every Indian restaurant we list. A list of the locally owned ones needs a smaller and more careful answer, and that is the rest of this page.

We checked the Lincoln restaurant records in the Highstreett directory, matched the trading address to Companies House where the evidence allowed it, followed the PSC register, and read each venue’s own current menu. Two restaurants cleared every step: MaCh in North Greetwell and Laziza at Burton Waters. Castle View and Chilli Spice still belong in a broader guide to Indian food, but their ownership remains unresolved, so this page does not quietly promote them into a locally owned list.

Built on a Highstreett search for “Indian restaurants in Lincoln”, run 26 October 2026.

The search ranks the businesses we list the same way the live search does. Known chains appear after other results, and some big national chains, about 120 brands, are left out entirely. The live search also checks Google Places for places we have not listed yet.

The data behind this list

CheckResult on 9 September 2026
Lincoln Indian restaurant records reviewed5
Venue menus checked on a surface controlled by the venue4
Exact active company matches with an individual PSC2
Restaurants included as locally owned2
Ownership cases still unresolved3

These are page research numbers, not a count of every restaurant in Lincoln. A restaurant without a resolved match has not failed an independence test. It simply has not supplied enough public evidence for this particular claim.

The independent Indian restaurants we'd start with

Two Indian restaurants in Lincoln cleared every ownership step on 9 September 2026.

1. MaCh Indian Restaurant

MaCh is the occasion pick: a full restaurant and bar on Wragby Road East in North Greetwell, rather than a High Street takeaway. Its own site says Mav and Charlotte founded the restaurant in 2006 and continue to run it as a family restaurant.

The legal match is unusually clean. MHG Enterprises Limited, company 05517300, is active, gives MaCh Restaurant itself as the registered office, and files under licensed restaurants. The company’s PSC record names one individual as the person with significant control. That is an address match, a trading activity match and a local individual controller, not an inference from the size of the dining room.

What to order. MaCh publishes a main menu and group menus on its own site. The main menu PDF was dated March 2026 when we checked it. The restaurant also advertised a two-course party menu at £25 per person for groups of ten or more and a £25 sharing banquet for groups of sixteen or more, both by prior arrangement.

Go here when you want to sit down for the evening, order across the table and have a drink with dinner. It is outside the centre, so allow for a drive or taxi rather than treating it as a walk from campus.

Ownership checked: 9 September 2026. Menu checked: 9 September 2026.

2. Laziza Indian Bar & Restaurant

Laziza sits at 10 The Landings, Burton Waters. Its own ordering site leads with biryani and takeaway, but this is also a waterside restaurant and bar, making it the more useful pick when one person wants a full evening out and another wants to collect dinner.

Laziza Limited, company 16283982, is active and uses the restaurant’s exact trading address as its registered office. The PSC register names one individual with 75 percent or more of the shares and voting rights, plus the right to appoint or remove directors. We found no national parent, franchise operator or private equity controller above it.

What to order. The venue’s current ordering menu foregrounded biryani and advertised 20 percent off online ordering when checked. Treat the promotion as changeable and confirm it in the basket before relying on it. The useful distinction from MaCh is format: Laziza works for both a restaurant booking and a direct online takeaway order.

Ownership checked: 9 September 2026. Menu checked: 9 September 2026.

Indian takeaways in Lincoln

Three of the Indian takeaways we list are on the High Street, south of the river. Chilli Spice at 64 High Street takes orders direct from its own site, Sardar Ji at 376A High Street does collection and delivery, and Riyaz Indian Takeaway at 443 High Street says on its own site that it delivers across the city, within about five miles. Laziza, above, takes online takeaway orders as well as bookings. Outside the centre, Zayan Tandoori in Bracebridge Heath delivers and does collection every evening, and Namaste Gurkha in Birchwood cooks Nepalese and Indian food to take away.

Apart from Laziza, none of these takeaways has a verified ownership record with us yet, so none of the others carries a badge. Mowgli Street Food, uphill at 234 High Street, is a national chain, one of the big brands Highstreett leaves out of its listings altogether.

Why Castle View and Chilli Spice are not called locally owned here

Castle View and Chilli Spice both publish active Lincoln menus. That proves they trade locally. It does not prove who ultimately controls the business.

Castle View’s own menu was live when checked, with tandoori dishes, seafood and a full traditional curry section. Chilli Spice’s direct menu showed chicken curries from £8.95, vegetable curries from £7.95, a vegetarian set meal at £14.95, a one-person set meal at £18.95 and 10 percent off online orders over £20. Those are useful food facts, checked on 9 September 2026.

What we could not do was make a defensible current company match for either venue. A similarly named company in another city is not evidence, and a restaurant describing itself as local is not the same as a PSC record. Both remain visible in the directory without a verified badge. No badge is neutral: it does not mean either restaurant is a chain, and it does not mean verification is merely pending.

Cathedral View Indian Cuisine on Eastgate, near the cathedral, is in the same position. Its own website, read on 12 October 2026, names KAS Cuisine Limited, company 10389778, as the business behind it. We have not yet followed that company to its controller, so Cathedral View has no badge either.

What changed from the original article

The first version of this page named Castle View, MaCh, Saffron and Chilli Spice as independent. The evidence did not support that blanket claim. Saffron did not have a current directory record we could substantiate, Castle View and Chilli Spice had no resolved ownership match, and the article did not cite a company number for any venue.

The refresh keeps the useful menus, removes the unsupported ownership language, and narrows the locally owned list to the two restaurants whose trading address and controller can actually be followed through the register.

Indian restaurants in Lincoln: questions people ask

Is MaCh independently owned?

Yes, on the evidence checked. Its own site describes a family-run restaurant founded by Mav and Charlotte. Companies House matches the venue to active company 05517300, with one individual recorded as its PSC.

Is Laziza independently owned?

Yes, on the evidence checked. Active company 16283982 is registered at Laziza’s trading address, and its PSC record names one individual as controlling 75 percent or more of the shares and votes.

Does an unresolved restaurant fail Highstreett’s independence test?

No. Unresolved means we did not find enough public evidence to make a positive ownership claim. The restaurant can remain listed, but it does not receive the verified independent badge on the strength of a guess.

Menus, prices and ownership last checked 9 September 2026; the takeaway section and Cathedral View checked on 12 October 2026. Menus and promotions change. Ownership can change too. If you can point us to a current legal entity or a corrected menu, email Highstreett and we will review it.
