Lincoln guide

Afro hair in Lincoln, and who offers which service

A generic search brings back every salon in Lincoln. This page uses a narrower test: the business has to describe or show work with Afro-textured hair on its own channels. The three results are not interchangeable. One is a full salon and product shop, one specialises in braiding, and one is a barber.

Salon services and protective styles

  • Hair Apparent, Hair salon400 High Street. The business describes itself as an African and Caribbean salon offering braids, wigs, natural extensions, hair products and tools for Afro-textured and Caribbean hair.
  • Braids and Mo, Hair salonLincoln LN4. An appointment-based specialist for knotless and box braids, Fulani braids, men’s braids, faux locs, twists, sew-ins and children’s cornrows. Read the hair preparation notes before booking.

Barbering

  • The Gentry, Barber5 West Parade. Its own portfolio shows a skin fade on Afro-textured hair. This is the option for fades, short cuts and beard work, not braiding or extensions.

Before you book

Send a reference photo, name your hair texture and ask the business to confirm the service and preparation required before paying a deposit. That is especially important where different people in the same shop may have different experience.

How this was checked

The business had to name the relevant service or show the work in its own current portfolio. We did not include a salon simply because a review or directory category suggested it might be suitable.

Highstreett intends its directory for locally and privately owned businesses, with no national chains, franchises or private-equity owners. Only businesses confirmed against Companies House and the PSC register carry a verified badge. No badge makes no claim either way. Details checked 8 September 2026.
