Lincoln guide

Caribbean places in Lincoln, after a genuinely fresh search

We searched across many terms, jerk, patties, Caribbean bakery, Jamaican, West Indian, curry goat, oxtail, and the honest result is short: one Caribbean food business is currently trading in Lincoln, and it is a chain. We would rather say that plainly than pad this page with directory placeholders or businesses that have closed.

Neither name here has a page in our own Lincoln directory yet. That is ours to fix, and it is separate work from what follows: two names checked directly, on 8 September 2026, cited one at a time.

Caribbean food

Turtle Bay, Central Market, Sincil Street, Lincoln LN5 7ET. Chain. Britain’s largest Caribbean-themed restaurant chain, founded in 2010 by Ajith Jayaprakash Jayawickrema, who previously started Las Iguanas; the company had 52 UK sites as of March 2024. The Lincoln site’s own page describes “authentic Caribbean food and tropical cocktails” a three minute walk from Lincoln train station, and shows as trading.

Worth knowing before you go: the chain itself is under real pressure. Reporting dated 13 January 2026 has Turtle Bay closing three branches nationally and reporting a £10.1 million loss, and its founder exited the investment behind it in May 2025. None of that is evidence against the Lincoln branch specifically, which shows as open, but it is the honest context for a chain whose own site still calls itself independent in spirit.

Beyond food: Caribbean-owned retail

Hair Apparent, Lincoln. Independent. Describes itself as “Lincoln’s trusted African & Caribbean hair salon,” offering braids, wigs and extensions, and products “tailored for Afro-textured and Caribbean hair,” run by its owner, Jumoke. This is a hair and beauty business rather than a food business, which is why it sits in its own section here rather than folded into the food list above.

What this page does not do

It does not add either business to our directory, or check who owns them at Companies House. If you run a Caribbean-owned business in Lincoln we have missed, tell us and we will check it.
